What you'll make
A batch of personalised laser-cut name tags — all from one list — nested and ready to cut in a single job.
Step 1 — Design a single tag template
Set the tag dimensions, corner radius, font, text size, and padding. This template is applied to every name in the batch.
Step 2 — Enter names or upload CSV
Type names one per line, or upload a CSV. The CSV can include two columns — Name and Role/Title — for two-line tags.
Step 3 — Set quantity per name
Optionally set how many copies of each name to generate. For event badges, 1 each is standard.
Step 4 — Preview a sample tag
Check the preview for the first few names. Verify the text fits within the outline for the longest name in your list.
Step 5 — Choose nesting settings
Set the gap between tags — 1–2 mm for 3 mm material. Enable sheet auto-tiling if you have more tags than fit on one sheet.
Step 6 — Export and cut
Export as SVG. Import into LightBurn, set engraving and cut layers, and run the full batch in one session.
Pro tips
Tip 1: Sort your CSV alphabetically — it makes distributing finished tags at events much faster.
Tip 2: Cut from the back of the material for badge-holder clips — the engraving will face forward.
